PhD Workshop
The PhD workshop is a new event for the ICPE conference. It provides an open forum to help PhD students get familiar with the community as early as possible.
The goal of the PhD workshop is two-fold:

To provide an opportunity for PhD students to present and discuss their PhD research topics, plans, methodologies, and preliminary results obtaining some early feedback from the community.
- To provide an opportunity for PhD students to discuss with a few of well experienced professors or senior engineers from industry about their PhD research. The professors or engineers will evaluate the research topics, methodologies, and plans of the PhD students and give them comments.
Proposal guidelines
Attendees should submit PhD research proposals to the submission system of the workshop. A PhD research proposal should include seven parts:

Abstract
- Introduction
- Related work
- Motivation
- Proposed approaches or methodologies
- Expected results
- References
The PhD research proposals must focus on the topics in the field of performance engineering including software and hardware performance. Submissions must be in the standard ACM format for conference proceedings. The proposals should not exceed 6 pages double column excluding references. Accepted proposals will be included in a separate workshop proceedings. Authors are required to adhere to the ACM Policy and Procedures on Plagiarism as well as to the ACM Policy on Prior Publication and Simultaneous Submissions.
The PhD student of each accepted proposal is required to register at the PhD student rate, attend and present the proposal in the workshop.
